Our resident videographer Fred Berney has provided videos for a number of MWOTRC meetings. We are also posting our monthly Zoom meetings, so please check this page for more updates. We will add more videos here as they becomes available.


2024 Zoom Meetings

Our April 2024 program features the First Fifteen with Sally Stephens who will tell us all about her latest Radio Road Trip. For our main presentation Dr. Rosanne Vrugtman will talk about the Zane Grey West Society. And Sally will again present the quiz, "Let's Talk about Teachers".

Our March 2024 program features Karl Schadow and Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about "Beyond Reasonable Doubt". The main presentation is Dr. Joe Webb discussing "The Secret Lives of Suspense Writers". And Wendy Wilmer presents the quiz "Did you hear the one about the blonde?".

Our February 2024 program features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about "Flash Gordon". The main presentation is Larry Dzeb discussing his books on the program "Captain Midnight". And Sally Stephens presents the quiz "Oh, I know that! I know that. OK, who is it?".

Our January 2024 program features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the Henry Morgan Program. The main presentation is Dr. Lona Bailey discussing her book "Betty Lou Gerson - the Voice of Villany". And Sally presents the quiz "Neither Here nor There"

2023 Zoom Meetings

Our November 2023 program starts with the First Fifteen with John Abbott presenting "September's Mystery Birthday Boy". The main presentation is also by John Abbott, who discusses "The Double Eye", a 1947 script by Leonard Lee which we beleive has never been recorder or aired - until now. The program also includes a re-creation of the programn. And Sally Stephens presents the Quiz.

Our October 2023 Zoom Meeting starts with Frank Morgan's First Fifteen which features an episode of "The Sea Hound". The main presentation is Frank Morgan and Karl Schadow who discuss "Weird Tale on the Air", and Sally Stephens presents the Quiz.

Our August 2023 Zoom Meeting starts with Frank Morgan's First Fifteen which features an episode of "Lest We Forget" about Jane Addams and Hull House. The main presentation is Frank Morgan who discusses "Don Ameche on the radio - Part II", and Sally Stephens presents the Quiz.

Our July 2023 Zoom Meeting starts with Karl Schadow and Frank Morgan's First Fifteen which features "Ann of the Airlanes". The main presentation is Frank Morgan who discusses "Don Ameche on the radio - Part I", and Sally Stephens presents the Quiz.

Our June 2023 Luncheon Meeting featured a Quiz which was recorded by Fred Berney.

Our May 2023 Zoom Meeting starts with Frank Morgan's First Fifteen which features "Men of Vision - Galileo". The main presentation is Steve Thopmson who discusses "Four Color Radio - A Discussion of Comics on the Radio and Radio in the Comics", and Sally Stephens presents the Quiz.

Our April 2023 Zoom Meeting starts with Frank Morgan's First Fifteen which features "Jump-Jump and the Snow Queen". The main presentation is Walden Hughes interviewing child-actor and writer/producer John Wilding, and Sally Stephens presents the Quiz.

Our March 2023 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen with a 1936 episode the the program "True Adventures of the Junior G-Men". The main presentation is Steve Darnell discussing the history of the Nastalgia Digest, and Wendy Wilmer presents the Quiz.

Our February 2023 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "Redbook Dramas". The main presentation is Dr. Lona Bailey who discussed her book "Uncredited", a biography of Virginia Gregg, and Sally Stephens presents the Quiz.

Our January 2023 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "Studio 15". The main part of our meeting is an open mic where members get to talk abut OTR, and Sally Stephens presents the Quiz.

2022 Zoom Meetings

On December 17, 2022 we gathered together for our 2022 Winter Luncheon. Our gathering featured an audio quiz, and the presentation of the Cawelti Award for 2022.

Our December 2022 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "Adventures in Research - The Rain Wizard". Martin Grams explains the history of "Challenge of the Yukon" aka "Sgt. Preston of the Yukon", and Sally Stephens presents "The World's Easiest" Quiz.

Our November 2022 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "Ceiling Unlimited - The Navigator". Club member John Abbott discusses "The 1950 Census and Johnny Dollar", and Sally Stephens presents The Quiz.

Our October 2022 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program Front Page Drama, guest presenter Samantha Glasser presents the life of Dick Powell, and Sally Stephens presents The Quiz.

Our September 17 program at the Mid-Atlantic Nostaglia Convention(MANC) which features an original radio play written by Edgar Farr Russell III titled "Three at Midnight". There is also a quiz hosted by Frank Morgan.

Our September, 2022 Zoom Meeting features Sally Stephens with the First Fifteen about "The Accidental Radio Roadtrip". The main presentation is by Dr Annette Bochenek who discusses "Ladies of Laughter - Great Comediennes" and Sally Stephens presents The Quiz.

Our August, 2022 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "The Black Book". The main presentation is by Dr Joe Webb who discusses the Radio and TV program "The Big Story" and Sally Stephens presents The Quiz. During the program Dr. Webb also presents a tribute to Jay Hickerson, the founder of The Friends of Old Time Radio (FOTR).

Our July, 2022 Zoom Meeting features features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "Wormwood Forest", the main presentation is Stone Wallace discussing Tough Guys and Sally Stephens presents The Quiz.

Our June, 2022 Zoom Meeting features a live feed from our Summer Luncheon courtesy of Frank Morgan. Included in the feed is the monthly quiz.

Our May, 2022 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "Time Marches On", the main presentation is Walden Hughes interviewing Richard Williams - one of the original Quiz Kids, and Wendy Wilmer presents The Quiz.

Our April, 2022 Zoom Meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "Speed Gibson of the International Secret Police", the main presentation is Walden Hughes interviewing Ivan Cury, and Sally Stephens presents The Quiz.

Our October 2021 Zoom meeting features Frank Morgan's First Fifteen about the program "Strange as it Seems", Frank Abshser discusses the Radio Preservation Task Force, and Sally Stephens presents The Quiz.

Our Septmber 2021 Zoom meeting features Jack French with the first fifteen about the soap opera "Pepper Young's Family". The main event is a tag-team presentation with Jack French and Frank Morgan about the program "Straight Arrow, and Sally Stephens presents The Quiz.

Our July 2021 Zoom meeting features Sally and Wendy with the quiz, and Dr. Joe Webb presents the history of Suspence

Our June 2021 Zoom meeting featured a First Fifteen about "Jolly Bill and Jane" by Jack French and a video presentation about "The Other Stan Freberg" by John Abbott.

Our May 2021 Zoom meeting featured Martin Grams with the First Fifteen about Dick Tracy radio serials, Jack French discussed the role of San Francisco in 1940's radio, and Sally Stephens presented the quiz.

Our April 2021 Zoom meeting featured Jack French with the First Fifteen about the career of Irene Delroy, Frank Morgan presented the history of Police Procedurals on radio, and Sally Stephens presented the quiz.

Our March 2021 Zoom meeting featured Martin Grams, Jr. with the First Fifteen about a rare Paul Sutton audition for The Lone Ranger, John Abbott presented "Bob Bailey - From Start to Finish", and Sally Stephens presented the quiz.

Our February 2021 zoom meeting featured a presentation by Jack French on "Radio Quiz Shows" and the OTR Quiz


Pre 2021 Meetings

Our September 11 program was held via Zoom. Jack Fench did a "First Fifteen" on Jack Webb's program "One out of Seven". Our featured speaker was James O'Brien who worked as a journalist for the USAF, CBS and other organizations

Our August 10 meeting was, once again, a Zoom meeting featuring a presentation by Frank Morgan titled "Fibber McGee and Molly - The Voices of Wistful Vista"


Our July 10 meeting was, once again, a Zoom meeting featuring a presentation by Michael Hayde which featured a run-down of Jack Benny's longest laughs:

Once again, we all assembled on Zoom for our June 12, 2020 meeting featuring a presentation by Martin Grams about The Green Hornet:

For our May 8, 2020 meeting, we all assembled on Zoom. Fred Berney recorded the meeting which features Jack French discussing TV programs that appeared on the radio.

Our January 2020 meeting featured the debut of an original play written by club member John Abbott. The play, "The Perfect Crime" will teach you how to commit a perfect crime - and the results are guaranteed!

Our May 2018 meeting featured Jack French and a recreation of the Phil Harris Alice Faye Show by club members:

Our speaker for the January 2018 meeting was Marvin Kalb, noted radio reporter, scholar and one of "Murrow's Boys":

Here is a video or our September 2017 meeting held at MANC - the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention. In addition to a quiz conducted by Jack French, we presented a recreation of Arch Obler's "Chicken Heart"
